Sirena is a voice actress from Port Saint Lucie Florida. New to the scene, she has recently landed her first role as Haruhi in a Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya radio play. She is a member of the Voice Acting Club and the Voice Acting Alliance, where she continues to audition for different parts. Sirena is also a member of the Odyssey AudioWorks project, a collaborative effort geared toward blind and visually impaired voice, script and producer talent.
Sirena Carroll, known to most on the web as Samara Raine, grew up in Rockland County New York with her parents and three siblings. As well as being a voice actress, she is a writer, a singer, a sister and a daughter. At eighteen, she graduated as Valedictorian from a private high school in Westchester New York, earning herself a three C award and sending off the class of 2005 with a beautiful rendition of Celine Dion and R. Kelly's I'm Your Angel. In November of 2009, she said goodbye to her home state and moved to Port Saint Lucie Florida to be closer to her mother who had relocated to the Sunshine State several months previously. She now resides in a small apartment where she enjoys baking cookies in her very own kitchen, taking singing lessons from Brett Manning's Singing Success program and teaching herself to play the new guitar with which she was recently gifted.
Sirena is currently in the process of writing her first novel, a fantasy epic she hopes will one day hit shelves. Her greatest literary dream is to one day hear her stories narrated for the Talking Book and Braille Library by Martha Harmon Pardee or Gabriella Cavallero.
Sirena suffers from Lebers Congenetal Amaurosis, a genetic eye disorder that has rendered her legally blind since birth. In June of 2011, she traveled to San Rafael California to train with her very first guide dog at Guide Dogs for the Blind. She graduated on July 16, 2011, and returned home the following day with a butiful male black labrador named Tony.
"I have a visual impairment. It does not have me."
As someone whose lived her entire life gradually losing what limited sight she had as a child, Sirena believes wholeheartedly in the above statement.
"I thought it up one day, and it's stayed with me ever since," she says.
Sirena believes in equal rights for all people with disibilities, and she feels that it's her goal to make a difference in whatever community she may be a part of at the time. Her current goal is to assist in making braille menus accessible to the restaurants in her community that don't have them.
